Cloud computing is transforming the way we use technology as it offers cost-effective, scalable, and on-demand access to storage and computing power. A lot of the technology we use every day is built on the cloud, from video streaming platforms to online banking.

This interactive workshop will give you an insight into the world of cloud computing. It will cover the fundamentals of the cloud, of Google Cloud specifically, and you’ll get a chance to try it for yourself and create your own cloud resources.

You can expect to learn:

  • What the cloud actually is

  • The advantages of using the cloud over traditional IT infrastructure

  • Some of the benefits of using Google Cloud

  • What are some commonly used Google Cloud products

  • How to get started deploying and monitoring resources in Google Cloud

Eligibility requirements: 

  • This workshop is aimed at those considering a career in technology
  • No experience is required

Chidi Ekeoma: Lead Platform Engineer, CTS – Designing and implementing complex cloud solutions and workshops for almost 3 years. Here to answer any questions about the cloud (aka secretly googling it in the background).

Jenn Calland: Platform Engineer and Data Analyst, CTS – Jenn joined CTS in September as a returner to the tech industry.  Jenn has experience with business and applications analysis, building full stack ecommerce websites and with delivering complex solutions.

Nathan Ridding: Platform Engineer, CTS – Nathan joined CTS last year after completing the AWS re/Start course. He has experience providing technical support on a large scale application on Google Cloud.
