Python for Beginners Bootcamp

Length of the Course

6 weeks

Course period

06:30 pm BST 01:30 pm EDT

In this 6 weeks part-time bootcamp, you will learn the fundamentals of Python programming, such as variables, conditions, loops and lists; and you will apply your knowledge to create some traditional games along the way, such as Rock-Paper-Scissors and Hangman. The capstone project of the bootcamp is to make a game of your own and get it published for Amazon Alexa!

Our Ambassador Yoyu Li will be the instructor of this course. Yoyu currently works as an independent game designer. She has experience in a wide range of roles throughout her career – product designer, game producer, product manager, startup CTO and technology consultant. She and other volunteers will help you get up to speed with Python programming throughout the bootcamp.

What is the format?

  • 1.5h interactive lesson a week, over the course of six weeks, delivered virtually
  • After each interactive lesson, you will be given take-home tasks to hone your skills. The idea is for you to learn how to learn
  • The lessons are a combination of lectures, follow-along exercises, Q&As and discussions
  • You can connect with a coach during the “question hour” (a one-hour slot once a day) on Slack. If there’s anything that blocks you from progressing, you can raise the questions here.
