As part of our 4-week long Women’s History Month & International Women’s Day Event Series, we are hosting an open Q&A session with Emma Cannon, Head of People at Duco Technology, and Beth Nevins, People Director at CloudNC.
Emma and Beth will be taking open questions and discussing some of the best ways to self-position with confidence, including dealing with the psychological ‘trip-ups’ which can hold us back, and negotiating effectively with employers. Emma’s specialist area is coaching for confidence, and Beth’s specialist area is recruitment and talent management.
After starting out as a recruiter sourcing temps for factories, Emma built a 20-year career in HR across tech, legal and financial services companies. She holds post-graduate qualifications in HR, and has specialised in employee relations and organisational development. She has received external awards for her work from trade unions and employment charities. Emma is also a volunteer interview coach at SmartWorks, an organisation which supports disadvantaged women back into the workplace.
Beth has over 10 years’ experience within recruitment and talent management. Her expertise lies within the technology market, having recruited for household brands and start-ups named in the Tech Track 100 list. Beth has been a top performer in recruitment within the agency arena. In recent years, she has worked as an internal recruitment and HR leader for start-ups, supporting from seed stage to following investment rounds. She is a volunteer interview coach at Oxfizz, a not-for-profit enterprise delivering educational services and Oxbridge interview training to tackle disadvantage.
